Sakhalin Island
7- day Rapid Research Project
A large company was evaluating whether or not it should be interested in a play in Sakhalin Island, but had essentially no prior knowledge of the setting. We provided a 25-page report in 11x17" format, including 12 maps, two detailed composite lithologic-stratigraphic columns, a revised magnetic interpretation, and detailed information about an oil field of particular interest. Included was a disk of data on producing fields in the basin.
Price: $2,000.00
The magnetic map (below) in the vicinity of the northern part of the island shows an intense linear magnetic high just offshore. This represents an 87-million-year-old ophiolite, correlative with the rocks that crop out on Shmidt Peninsula at the north tip of Sakhalin Island.
